Panagia Plataniotissa
Surrounded by greenery and cold waters, is the church of Panagia Plataniotissa, inside the cavity of a huge plane tree, which was formed by three trees which grew together and over time were united and created the remarkable masterpiece of nature. In one of the surfaces of the cavity is the imprint of the Virgin Mary holding the Holy Child in her hands and which is identical with the image of the Virgin of Mega Sppilaio. Panagia Plataniotissa, is considered a sacred tribute to the Mother of all Christians, dating from the beginning of the 4th century AD and is located close to Kalavryta. The miraculous chapel today inside fits twenty pilgrims and celebrates on September the 8th.
Agia Lavra
The monastery of Agia Lavra is surrounded by trees and is located 4.5 kilometers from the town of Kalavryta. On the right of the main entrance of the enclosure of the monastery is the church where the revolution was declared and blessed by the Bishop Palaeon Patron Germanos at the feast of the Annunciation 1821. The Monastery of Agia Lavra was founded in 961 AD a fellow eremite of St. Athanasius the Athonite, who built the Great Lavra of St. Orous. On 1828 the new monastery was founded in the current location, which ended with many labors, privations and difficulties. In 1851the main church and the church of the monastery were built. On December 14, 1943 (the day after the Holocaust) the German conquerors burnt the Monastery and killed all the monks that at the time of the disaster were in the monastery, under the historical Platanos, but they did not harm the ledger. The current building began building in 1947 as a project of Professor An. Orlandos and finished in 1950.

Mega Spilaeo
The Monastery of Mega Spilaeo is located near the 10th kilometer of the road Kalavryta - Punda and is built in 362 AD, in a stunning landscape at the entrance to a natural cave at a height of 924 meters. The 840 AD Mega Cave was burned by the ikonoclasts. In 1285 Andronicus Palaeologus rebuilt the Monastery which then becomes one of the richest monasteries. In 1400 it was burned for the second time and in 1600 for the third time when except for the church the valuable library and the rare manuscripts were also burnt. For the fourth time it was burned in 1934 and the fire destroyed all the priceless relics. It was Rebuilt in 1936 but was burned again and looted by the Germans in December 1943. The Germans executed 22 monks and threw their corpses to a nearby cliff. The monastery celebrates August the 15th.

Makelaria Monastery
The Monastery of Makelaria is located 30 km from the town of Kalavryta and is dedicated to the Assumption of Virgin Mary. It was built by the General of Justinian ,Belisarius, in 532 AD, as shown by an inscription which is saved until today, in order to atone for the slaughter in the famous "Nika Riot" in Istanbul. The original name of the monastery was Virgin Mary the Lithostrotiotisa because it is built on a rock. The name "Makelaria" of the monastery comes from the carnage that took place when the Turks went to conquer it in 1458. After several days of siege they managed to occupy the monastery and kill the monks and their minions who were there. The most precious treasure is the miraculous image of the Virgin Mary and the jar with the miraculous oil. The monastery was renovated in 1784. It celebrates on August the 15th.
